BRUMMEN KASTEEL LANDGOED ENGELENBURG |
Engelenburg Castle / Country estates dates from the Middle ages. It served as an example for the building of King William and Mary's Palace 't Loo.
Around 1780 it served as the headquarters of the patriots of Gelderland, and their leader, Robert Jasper van der Capellen, lived in the castle. At the beginning of this century Engelenburg belonged to the then Royal Commissioner in Gelderland, Jonkheer Schelto van Citters.
In 1988 the new owner, Mr. A. Th. de Lange, transformed the extensive country estate and the magnificently restored castle into an exclusive Hotel / Restaurant and Golf and Conference Centre.
